Financial management is crucial for the long-term success of nonprofits. This course enables nonprofit professionals to think strategically about managing money and teaches accounting fundamentals to help make sound financial decisions. Students in this course will learn how to identify and create effective budgets, analyze the health of an organization based on cash reserves and debt, and how to achieve overall financial sustainability for their organization based on their mission and goals.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Samantha Stephenson is an experienced professional who has held diverse positions in both financial and business analysis with top firms such as Goldman Sachs and Hilton Worldwide, as well as start-up experience. She holds an MBA in Accounting and Operational Research from the University of Texas at Dallas, a BBA in Finance from the University of North Texas and is also a licensed Securities broker. Her main focuses include financial analysis, specifically FP&A and budget management, as well as investment evaluation. She is a driven individual that seeks to bring both her professional and educational experiences to the academic field in hopes of making a significant impact on students wishing to advance in finance and business.
