Introductory Grant Writing:
Step into the lucrative world of grant writing and get a handle on grant writing fundamentals and lingo. You’ll have the opportunity to work hands-on with a grant relevant to your professional or personal interests. In this challenging course, you will learn how to:
- Find and interpret state, federal, and private foundation grants
- Discern the various types of Request for Proposals (RFPs)
- Prepare goals, objectives, and measurement criteria for the proposal
- Write a Letter of Intent (LOI)
- Prepare how to write an outline for the entire proposal
Intermediate Grant Writing:
The course will strengthen a student's ability to apply the principles and mechanics of grant writing to various types of grant applications, such as letter of intent and those funded through private foundations, state and federal agencies. There will be several grant proposal writing assignments where the student experiences the entire grant writing process--from RFP interpretation to narrative and budget development. In addition to learning through lectures and readings, students will receive individual one-on-one coaching sessions from the Instructor.
Introductory Grant Writing: January 31 - April 4, 2022 | 8 weeks | Mondays | 6 - 8:30 PM
Intermediate Grant Writing: TBD
We accept checks, money orders, credit and debit cards. No financial aid or payment plans are available.
The instructor will provide all course material.
Grant Writing: This is a challenging course that requires students to put in some time outside of class for research and written homework assignments. Students should have a strong grasp of the English language, and be comfortable with research, reading, and writing skills.
Intermediate Grant Writing: Students should have had some prior experience with grant writing or taken the introductory Grant Writing course.
